Brain Products MoBI Award 2022: And the winners are …

by Stefanie Rudrich
Head of Marketing (Brain Products)

Taking research out of the lab and into the real world can be challenging in many ways. As we at Brain Products want to encourage and reward scientists who are doing so, we designed the Brain Products MoBI Award 5 years ago.

Submissions for the 4th edition of this award opened in November 2021 and when they closed in February 2022, we were once again truly impressed by the outstanding quality and quantity of entries.

As in previous years, all submitted publications were reviewed by an independent panel of MoBI experts and scored based on the following criteria: positive impact on society, innovation and impact of the research, and – of course – scientific quality.

This year’s winners

The jury’s general feedback about the quality of this year’s submissions was very positive and it was a close race. Still, once the scores were in and tallied, the top three turned out to be: Camila Sardeto Deolindo, Natalie Richer, PhD and Prof. Dr. Klaus Gramann.

Whereas we had to arrange a dedicated online symposium to present our winners in 2020, this year’s winners could again be honored at the in-person 4th International Mobile Brain/Body Interaction Conference (San Diego, USA | June 5 – 10, 2022). Although, our 1st prize winner, Camila (based in Denmark), had to give her talk remotely, we and our friends from Brain Vision LLC truly enjoyed finally exhibiting again on site and meeting conference attendees live!

“A lot can be done online nowadays. Still, virtual conferences simply cannot replace in-person ones and I was super happy to travel again and chat with researchers face to face in San Diego!”

Sara Pizzamiglio, PhD, Scientific Consultant at Brain Products GmbH (Germany)

“It was great having forward-thinking, open, and creative conversations in person with our users from the MoBI community! Especially with ones that I have only engaged with via webcam since joining Brain Vision LLC last year.”

Bernard Gomes, Associate Scientific Consultant at Brain Vision LLC (USA)

Congratulations again to the top 3 for winning a certificate, trophy and a LiveAmp Bundle (inkl. amplifier, electrodes, caps, software, etc.). Also, many thanks to all the scientists who submitted their work to the 2022 MoBI Award. Click here for more on the winners and a list of this year’s top ranked submissions.

Last but not least, we would also like to sincerely thank all jury members for their time, dedication and thoughtful reviews of the submissions. We hope to see all of you again on the jury board in 2024!
