The Centre of Neurosciences of Cuba recently inaugurated its new facilities, being this the culmination of 45 years of research which led to the creation of CNEURO 25 years ago. One of the keynote lectures was given by Prof. Louis Lemieux (sponsored by Brain Products) on the role of EEG in fMRI studies.

Brain Products has been granted European patent for dry electrodes and Utility Model for fMRI compatible electrodes

As for the previously mentioned US patents, Brain Products is proud to have received the official confirmation for the European patent EP 2474263 B1 (dry electrode) as well as for the Utility Model 202011104334.0 (EEG electrode with an indicator to improve safety in EEG recordings).

Vibration induced EEG artifacts during simultaneous EEG-fMRI

The most prominent MR-related EEG artifacts are gradient artifacts and the ballistocardiogram. However, vibrations represent another problematic source of artifacts. Therefore, noise assessment and reduction is of special importance for EEG measurements within the MR scanner.
