Since the very beginning, all Brain Products EEG systems were designed for co-registration of peripheral physiological signals.

Over the years, our Technical Support Team identified the most frequent questions and our team member Dr. Stefania Geraci started to compile a tutorial, in which many of these questions are addressed. We are now happy to release the online version of the Brain Products Sensor Tutorial.

Our Sensor Tutorial, which is available here, is currently restricted to laboratory and mobile applications; specific issues of the MR-environment are not covered in this release.

Each of the most frequently used sensors got an extra chapter

  • Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) sensor
    for the measurement of electrodermal activity (EDA)

  • Acceleration sensors (1D and 3D)
    to measure movement and acceleration of the extremities

  • Blood Pulse sensor
    for finger photoplethysmography (PPG)

  • Respiration sensor
    to measure thoracic or abdominal respiratory movements

Additionally, the Sensor Tutorial covers the BIP2AUX Adapter. This is a small, analogue differential DC preamplifier that amplifies the incoming signal in order to make it measurable by the AUX ports of the Brain Products amplifiers.
