News in brief

CapTrak has been updated with USB 3.0 cameras

CapTrakCapTrak, our handheld electrode localization tool for actiCAP active electrodes, has been updated. This device works to detect the position of actiCAP electrodes via triangulation with two integrated cameras to give you fast, accurate and reliable localization of your actiCAP electrodes. We have recently replaced the firewire cameras with USB 3.0 cameras, as well as made improvements to the calibration checks in the CapTrak software. These updates improve the calibration and self-check procedures, allowing you an even easier and quicker procedure than before. In order to get the most out of your CapTrak experience, be sure to check out our tips on how to facilitate the acquisition process, as well as how to keep your CapTrak in good working condition.

New BrainCap to LiveAmp Adaptor

BrainCap LiveAmp AdapterThose research groups who have traditionally been carrying out experiments in a laboratory-based setting and are interested in taking their research out of the lab and into the real world, will be happy to know that we recently introduced a BrainCap to LiveAmp adaptor. With this 50-pin connector, you can easily switch from recordings with the BrainAmp to mobile recordings with the LiveAmp (up to 64 channels), while still using the same electrode bundle. This handy little adaptor is the perfect compliment for those labs who are considering LiveAmp as an extension to their existing Brain Products setup.

If you would like to learn more about this adaptor, please don’t hesitate to contact us (via email, contact form or chat) or your local distributor.

New Talker available for actiCHamp Plus and Spike2
from Cambridge Electronic Design (CED)

Logo CEDIf you are using Spike2 signal acquisition software from Cambridge Electronic Design (CED), you can now easily integrate EEG data from your actiCHamp Plus, as well. A talker is a program that allows data streams from arbitrary devices to be added into a data file as if they were all being sampled by the same interface. Our friends at Cambridge Electronic Design have programmed a freely downloadable talker, the “Brain Talker” for actiCHamp Plus and Spike2. To learn more about the talker, visit their website.
