Vibration induced EEG artifacts during simultaneous EEG-fMRI

The most prominent MR-related EEG artifacts are gradient artifacts and the ballistocardiogram. However, vibrations represent another problematic source of artifacts. Therefore, noise assessment and reduction is of special importance for EEG measurements within the MR scanner.

CapTrak: Brain Products’ accurate, fast electrode localization tool designed for actiCAP active electrodes

Brain Products is excited to announce a groundbreaking development soon to be released: CapTrak, a light, handheld scanner equipped with two integrated cameras and an intuitive, easy-to-use software. CapTrak innovatively employs a triangulation method which allows to detect the positions of the actiCAP active electrodes within very short time. Determining 128 electrode positions in less than 5 minutes with unequaled accuracy and reproducibility is no longer a dream – it´s CapTrak!

Independent Component Analysis – demystified!

For most researchers, Independent Component Analysis (ICA) might be equivalent with a black box, magically cleaning your EEG data. In this article, we uncover the theoretical background and requirements of ICA and present its implementation in BrainVision Analyzer. We will provide core insights into the method, allowing you to confidently integrate ICA into your data processing pipelines.

Paralyzed man in mind-controlled exoskeleton kicks off FIFA World Cup 2014

On June 12, 2014, Juliano Pinto wore a robotic suit that allowed him to symbolically kick off the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. We at Brain Products are proud to have contributed to this magic moment as Juliano stepped out onto the field, wearing the actiCAP and mind-controlling the heavy exoskeleton.

2013 Early Career UCL Investigator in Neuroimaging Techniques elected

Every year the University College London rewards its best junior scientists for outstanding contributions in the field of neuroimaging techniques. Competition is strong as the award consists of a cheque for £500, a trophy and a certificate sponsored by Brain Products. The 2013 award was presented to Dr. Siawoosh Mohammadi on April 17.

Fostering the next generation of scientists

Brain Products offers workshops for various levels of neurophysiological researchers using electroencephalography (EEG). Since we take strong interest in fostering the next generation of scientists, Brain Products additionally organizes special events for young researchers being part of European training networks.
