NEW actiCAP and actiCHamp caps now with an improved and unified layout

In the past Brain Products used different cap layout styles for the caps that are used with the actiCHamp and the actiCAP active electrode system. Now we have combined the advantages of both layouts to create a unified cap layout. It improves usability, handling and convenience, as well as allows actiCHamp users to use the actiCAP ControlBox to setup their subjects even faster.

Cybathlon 2016 – the new bionic Paralympics

Scientists, developers and company representatives will come together from all around the world in Zurich on October 8, 2016 to see how their technological developments impact individuals with physical disabilities. At Cybathlon, teams of people with severe disabilities will compete on six different disciplines: brain-computer interface (BCI) race, functional electrical stimulation bike race, arm prosthesis race, leg prosthesis race, exoskeleton race and wheelchair race.

Brain Products Young Scientist Award 2016 presented to Dr. Kathrin Ohla

Just as in previous years, Brain Products sponsored a “Young Scientist Award”, granted to a young researcher for an outstanding paper. This year’s winner was Kathrin Ohla (German Institute of Human Nutrition Potsdam-Rehbruecke), who recently received the award at the annual meeting of the German Society for Basic and Applied Psychophysiology.

UCL-CNT Early Career Investigator Award in Neuroimaging Techniques 2015 presented to Dr. Jorge Cardoso

On July 7, 2016 Dr. Jorge Cardoso received the “UCL-CNT Early Career Investigator Award in Neuroimaging Techniques 2015” at University College London (UK). Endowed with prize money of £500, this young scientist award was presented for the first time in 2007 and since then has been proudly sponsored by Brain Products.

In a recent study (Müller, B. C. N., Kühn-Popp, N., Meinhardt, J., Sodian, B., & Paulus, M. 2015. Long-term stability in children’s frontal EEG alpha asymmetry between 14-months and 83-months. International Journal of Developmental Neuroscience, 41, 110-114), we measured resting state alpha EEG in children at two measurement points. This user research article provides an overview of our study.
