As many of you may know, from May 19 until August 18, 2014 Brain Products conducted a survey within the actiCHamp and PyCorder user community.
The user survey has been initiated by the Support Department in order to improve the understanding of user needs and research backgrounds, to determine user satisfaction as well as to identify possible weaknesses of the actiCHamp/PyCorder bundle. We were particularly interested in which features of the actiCHamp and PyCorder users like the most. As our thank you for taking part in the survey, the participants automatically entered a raffle to scoop an iPad mini. Our heartiest congratulations go to the winner Christian Scharinger (M.A.) from the University of Tübingen (Knowledge Media Research Center) – we hope you will enjoy your new gadget!
Over 90 percent of the participants find the actiCHamp to be “pretty good” to “very good”. Additionally, the PyCorder software is appreciated by a total of 75 percent of the users. Unsurprisingly, the active electrodes have been reported to be the most attractive feature (approx. 90%), followed closely by the ability to use the amplifier in a modular fashion (e.g. extending from 32 up to 168 channels; approx. 84%) and the fact that PyCorder is an open source software based on Python allowing for additional functionality and libraries to be created by the users themselves (approx. 71%).
In view of the forum we learned that the majority of users is satisfied with the information and support supplied on the platform. However, we also understand that sometimes support via the forum seems to be less attractive to users as compared to receiving support by email. Yet, users listed the forum as the first go-to resource when facing problems since it provides answers to the most commonly stated issues.
We deeply appreciate that you visit the forum with regularity and are excited to hear that the information provided on the platform is of high value to you.
Let me finish with a big thank you to all participants – we are looking forward to seeing you again in the forum!
